Brock Lesnar shocked the world when he made his return to WWE Raw on its October 10th season premiere, attacking Bobby Lashley ahead of a scheduled United States Championship match with Seth Rollins. This was Lesnar’s first appearance since losing to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
On that occasion, Lesnar delivered multiple F5’s to Bobby Lashley before locking in the Kimura, which left Lashley’s arm too damaged to apply the Hurt Lock in his title match. As a result, Seth Rollins was victorious and won the United States Championship following multiple Stomps.
Lashley’s rage at Brock Lesnar led to the two of them facing off in a bout at WWE Crown Jewel, but following Lesnar’s victory over the former champion, The Beast Incarnate once again disappeared from WWE programming, leading to speculation about what feuds may be in store for him in the future now that all storylines appear to be wrapped up.
There Are Currently No Plans In Place For Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 39
As WWE looks ahead to the Royal Rumble as its next premium live event, speculation has begun about the potential plans for WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles. While WWE no doubt wants Brock Lesnar to be a part of their biggest show of the year, there are no official plans in place at this time.
According to a recent report from Ringside News, a rumored bout between Lesnar and Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER is “one of many options for WrestleMania.” The report continues, noting that “there are several options being discussed.”
One tenured member of WWE‘s creative team shed more light on the situation, telling Ringside News that until Lesnar hears a pitch about a possible WrestleMania opponent, any proposed bouts remain pure speculation. According to the source, “nothing has been pitched to Lesnar yet, so it’s all speculation and rumor because until it’s pitched to Lesnar, it’s just a discussion about what to pitch to Lesnar.”
It comes as no surprise that Brock Lesnar would be involved in the creative decisions surrounding his WrestleMania feud, as he’s been known to alter plans when he doesn’t agree to a certain opponent. He reportedly caused AJ Styles’ WWE Championship win over Jinder Mahal in the past as he did not want to work a program with Mahal, and he also allegedly vetoed a program with Kevin Owens.
