One segment on AEW Dynamite wasn’t filmed with the rest of the show.
On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Eddie Kingston addressed the Jericho Appreciation Society in the wake of Blood and Guts. He thanked his team for securing the win against their foes, even giving a special shoutout to his long-time rival Claudio Castagnoli.
However, the scene soon cut to the Jericho Appreciation Society launching an attack on Kingston’s close friend Ruby Soho, with Tay Conti slamming Ruby’s arm in a car door and leaving her lying as Jericho addressed Kingston.
Eagle-eyed fans would realize, however, that Chris Jericho could not have been in attendance for this week’s Dynamite as he is currently in the UK, completing his Jericho Chronicles tour with Inside the Ropes.
According to Fightful Select, the segment was actually taped last week, potentially before Blood and Guts even took place. The report also notes that Jericho is expected to return to television next week.
Elsewhere on AEW Dynamite, Wardlow defeated Scorpio Sky to become the new TNT Champion. Additionally, Christian Cage referenced Jeff Hardy’s real-life personal issues in a cutting promo against Jeff’s brother Matt, and the team of the Acclaimed and the Ass Boys finally split.
In the main event of the show, Jon Moxley retained his AEW World Championship against Brody King, who earned a shot at the title by winning the Royal Rampage match last week.
