Behind the scenes information regarding Roman Reigns’ appearance on WWE Raw has been revealed.
As reported by Fightful Select, despite appearing in a backstage segment on Raw, Reigns did not make an in-person appearance at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines Iowa. Instead, The Tribal Chief filmed the segment with Paul Heyman while at the December 16th SmackDown, which aired inside the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
Roman Reigns Was not backstage During The December 19th Raw Broadcast
In what was the cold open for the final WWE Raw of 2022, Heyman introduced the show to the WWE Universe, with the camera then focusing on Reigns. The Tribal Chief referenced that Raw was the home of Kevin Owens, even though Owens repeatedly would venture to SmackDown to crash the gates of the island of relevancy.
The Undisputed WWE Champion then discussed the upcoming match on December 30th SmackDown, which will see Roman Reigns team with Sami Zayn to take on the team of Kevin Owens and John Cena.
Reigns stated that KO will need more than Cena to become victorious, needing the entire Raw locker room to provide backup. The segment would end with The Head of the table declaring that The Bloodline were on a path of destruction across the Raw roster.
The Usos, Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa would continually take out members of the Raw roster throughout the broadcast of the show. The main event of Raw would see Jimmy and Jey Uso lose a tag team match to Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins.
The December 30th tag team match will continue John Cena’s streak of wrestling one match a year in WWE since the 16 time World Champion made his iconic debut on SmackDown in 2002. The match announcement has been well received by the WWE fanbase, with a reported increase in ticket sales for the last SmackDown of the year taking place shortly after the news broke.
Roman Reigns is heavily rumoured to be facing The Rock at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood, California. The match will be The Tribal Chief’s 10th appearance at the biggest event in the WWE calender, and will be hoping to add to his already prestigious record.
