Backstage News On The Rock's Big Announcement Set For WWE SmackDown

The Rock looks set to deliver some huge news to WWE fans when he makes his return to SmackDown.

Ahead of the February 21st episode of SmackDown, it was announced that The Rock would be appearing live on the show following on from his previous appearances at the Raw on Netflix premiere on January 6th and the NXT New Year’s Evil special the following night.

Commenting on his upcoming appearance, The Final Boss noted that he was going to “Deliver a big beautiful gift to the city of New Orleans.” With previous reports indicating that New Orleans is set to host WrestleMania for a 3rd time, a follow-up from WrestleVotes has confirmed that the Hollywood star will be making things official on the show:

All signs out of ‘The Big Easy’ this morning point to The Rock officially announcing that WrestleMania 42 is coming to New Orleans next year.

While Rock also noted that he was going to “f*ck up a certain someone’s life with the Final Boss gospel”, there have been no reports indicating that Rock will be a part of the upcoming WrestleMania 41 show in Las Vegas, However, it should also be noted that while Roman Reigns has not been advertised for the show, Cody Rhodes will be appearing live and is scheduled to have a match, which will see him team with Braun Strowman and Damian Priest to take on Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.

The Rock Set For Imminent Hollywood Return

Prior to the announcement of his WWE return, it was reported that The Rock’s latest movie will see the former World Champion star alongside Emily Blunt and Leonardo DiCaprio in a film directed by Martin Scorsese.
