Backstage News On Plans For Mercedes Mone At AEW Grand Slam Australia

Mercedes Mone Fires Back At Fan Criticising AEW Run

What are AEW‘s plans for Mercedes Mone at Grand Slam Australia?

At All In, AEW announced plans for two international shows in 2025. Not only would the company be returning to London for Forbidden Door in August, they’re headed to Australia for the first time to present Grand Slam: Australia on February 15th.

Multiple matches are already confirmed for the event. On the January 22nd episode of Dynamite, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay challenged Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher to a tag team match at Grand Slam, and Mariah May is set to defend her AEW Women’s Champion against Toni Storm.

One star who has yet to have a match confirmed is TBS Champion Mercedes Mone, but a new report from Fightful Select reveals that the current plan is for Mone to face Harley Cameron in Australia. On the January 22nd episode of Dynamite, Cameron and Mone had a backstage segment together where Cameron sang about wanting to get on the “Money Train” before Mercedes rejected her offer to face off against one another.

Mercedes Mone Reflects On Setting New Record At AEW Full Gear

Writing in a December issue of Mone Mag, Mercedes Mone reflected on setting a record with her match against Kris Statlander at Full Gear. She wrote:

“Our match set a new record as the longest women’s match in AEW history, and it was an honor to be part of such a monumental moment. As we went toe-to-toe, the intensity only grew, and I knew we were creating something special in that ring. There’s a certain camaraderie that develops when you share the canvas with someone who brings out the best in you, and I felt that with Kris.”
