Backstage News On Changes Made To Bad Bunny’s Backlash Plans

Bad Bunny on WWE Raw

Despite being one of the biggest music stars in the world, Bad Bunny is throwing caution to the wind and indulging his love of professional wrestling.

The star first dipped his toes into the weird world of WWE at the 2021 Royal Rumble performing his hit song “Booker T,” before competing at WrestleMania 37. On the show, he teamed with Damian Priest to defeat The Miz and John Morrison.

The star got back in the ring during the men’s Royal Rumble match in 2022, and most recently returned at WrestleMania 39, helping Rey Mysterio to victory over his son Dominik. This set up a feud between himself and Judgment Day, which saw Priest Chokeslam him through the announce table on Raw.

Bad Bunny was already set to host Backlash in Puerto Rico, but his issues with Priest and Judgment Day saw him added to the card.

However, his San Juan Street Fight against Priest wasn’t the original plan.

A new report from Fightful Select has confirmed that original plans would have seen the Grammy Award winner team with Rey Mysterio take on Priest and Dominik. Furthermore, the music star was scheduled to pin Dominik, sending the Puerto Rican crowd home happy.

In recent weeks, WWE and Bad Bunny have both become increasingly confident in his ability to have a good singles match, so Rey and Dominik Mysterio were taken out of the bout.
