WWE will return to Atlanta later this month for The Great American Bash, Saturday Night’s Main Event, and Evolution. Officials previously announced that the all-women’s PPV will feature a high-stakes Battle Royal, but now sources have revealed the likely winner and the path she will take.
World Wrestling Entertainment held its inaugural all-women’s PPV on October 28, 2018. Evolution featured a 20-woman Battle Royal that saw Nia Jax earn a future unsuccessful title shot against then-RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. The 16-minute free-for-all included a mix of former and current Superstars, including Molly Holly, Alundra Blayze, Michelle McCool, Asuka, Zelina Vega, Lana, and Ember Moon aka Athena, who was eliminated last.
Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis have announced a Battle Royal for Evolution II. WWE’s main roster General Managers booked the match in honor of the similar opportunity at Evolution I. The winner will advance to the inaugural Clash In Paris PLE on August 31 in France, to challenge the Women’s Champion or the World Women’s Champion, currently Tiffany Stratton or IYO SKY.
WWE has not named participants for the Evolution Battle Royal, or confirmed the number of entrants, but the official match preview touts this as being a high-stakes match with “many Superstars” fighting for an incredible opportunity. Amid speculation on the match lineup, sources have provided the scoop on one of the challengers for WWE’s second PLE from France.
Stephanie Vaquer Expected To Win WWE Evolution Battle Royal
Stephanie Vaquer joined WWE on July 10, 2024 to much fanfare. Tony Khan tried to sign her to AEW, but Triple H and Shawn Michaels could offer her a childhood dream come true. She has impressed the industry since arriving, which earned her a historic NXT Women’s Championship win while Women’s North American Champion, a main roster call-up, and other year-one highlights.
The Dark Angel is now rumored to win the Evolution Battle Royal on August 31. A new report from Bodyslam.net reveals how Vaquer is currently the internal favorite to be the last woman standing, which would see the 32-year-old then advance to Clash In Paris to challenge for the Women’s World Championship currently held by IYO SKY.
If SKY can keep her title and Vaquer can win the Battle Royal, Clash In Paris could feature their second-ever singles match after their 14-minute RAW After WrestleMania 41 showdown ended in a No Contest. IYO is set to defend the Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley at Evolution.
Vaquer continuously racks up momentum, and Bodyslam pointed to how officials are often preparing to pull the trigger on a creative push when a talent’s stock is increasing both on-screen and behind-the-scenes. Furthermore, there’s been a lot of recent talk about which Superstar can be the next one to step up in the women’s division, and Vaquer’s name is mentioned throughout the company.
Evolution 2025 is set for Sunday, July 13 from Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. In addition to the Battle Royal and SKY vs. Ripley, the following matches are confirmed: NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne vs. Jordynne Grace, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton vs. Trish Stratus, as well as Women’s Tag Team Champions Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez defending in a Four-Way against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, plus two teams to be named.
