Fans of a certain AEW star will be disappointed to find out that there are absolutely no creative plans in place for the popular character at present in the Tony Khan-led promotion.
Britt Baker’s name has been floating around in the wrestling world thanks to her continued absence from All Elite Wrestling television, amid heavy rumors of a potential WWE signing. But perhaps it is time to end the conversation.
Britt Baker May Be Staying in AEW After All, But No Word on When She Will Return to TV
After spending a whole year away from the ring, Britt Baker returned to AEW in 2024. However, she only competed in five matches until November, after which she disappeared altogether yet again.
Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez debunked rumors of Baker potentially jumping ship to WWE. He stated that there was no change coming for her in the immediate future:
I heard she’s still got time left on her deal and there’s been nothing new in terms of coming back and nothing new in terms of imminently leaving. So, it appears nothing is going on right now.”
Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer added to this, noting that none of his sources had confirmed or denied that the former AEW Women’s World Champion was going to WWE, or intends to eventually. Also, those within the promotion do not buy into this rumor.
There is no word as to why Baker has been off television thus far. She has also not provided any insight into the reasons for being away, either, although she has been frequently posting cryptic tweets, supposedly against AEW.
Her final match at the time of this writing was against Penelope Ford in November 2024.
