IMPACT Hall of Famer Awesome Kong has hilariously opened up on viewing Hulk Hogan’s s*x tape, referencing his “greasy ass wings”.
Awesome Kong is heralded as one of the pioneers of women’s wrestling, with her rivalry vs. Gail Kim being booked and promoted in such a different manner compared to the rest of women’s wrestling. Fought over the Knockouts World Championship, the two IMPACT Hall of Famers were true trailblazers.
When Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff joined the company in early 2010, however, the knockouts division wasn’t treated with quite the same respect. Instead consisting of stripteases over solid in-ring action, the division has since gleefully bounced back.
Awesome Kong has now discussed Hogan’s infamous s*x tape. Speaking during an Inside The Ropes live show, the two-time Knockouts World Champion humorously detailed her journey watching the tape:
“I knew you were going to say that! You can’t say Hulk Hogan these days without saying, ‘Did you see it?’ You know? [laughs] I was like, ‘I didn’t want to watch it’, but it was that morbid curiosity of ‘Well, is he in shape? What is going on there?’ But then when you see him and he is like, ‘Uhhh, I am so full, I shouldn’t of had all those wings.’ Just drop your drawers and get to it already! Nobody wants to hear about your greasy ass wings. We want to see what your finisher is in the bed, hello!”
Awesome Kong initially spent three years under TNA’s employment. Her departure from the promotion in March 2010 was controversial; Bubba The Love Sponge claimed that he’d been attacked by Kong after making comments relating to the Haiti earthquakes. This led to Awesome Kong refusing to partake in a tour of the United Kingdom and suing Bubba, which ultimately led to her release.
Alongside stints in WWE and AEW, Awesome Kong ultimately ended up on better terms with IMPACT management, resulting in her return to the Anthem-helmed promotion in 2015. She’d be inducted into the IMPACT Hall of Fame last October, having declared her retirement from the ring two months prior.
