Authors Of Pain Reportedly Looking To Make In-Ring Return

Wrestling Stars The Authors of Pain

A new report has suggested that former Raw Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain are looking to return to the ring.

Following a try-out in Dubai, Rezar, real name Gzim Selmani, signed with WWE in 2015. After initially working as a singles wrestler, the Dutch-born Superstar teamed with Sunny Dhinsa, who later became known as Akam.

The pair were given the name The Authors of Pain, and they began their climb through WWE’s ranks. Flanked by legendary manager Paul Ellering, the duo won the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic before winning the NXT Tag Team Titles.

The powerhouses made the move to the main roster in April 2018, winning the Raw Tag Team Championships that November. However, the Authors of Pain were released by WWE in September 2020, choosing to be with their families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While it was previously reported that the pair had retired, Rezar fired back on social media, writing that the team weren’t done. In a new update from Fightful Select, it has been suggested that the former champions do have plans to make a return.

Furthermore, the pair have reached out to talent about an event they plan on running in Dubai in early June, where they also plan to wrestle. One source noted that “I’m not sure how often they’ll be wrestling, but they’re planning to do this one.”

Speaking during a recent interview, Rezar revealed that he pair got heat backstage during their time with WWE for sitting with Roman Reigns and the rest of The Shield. He also recalled a confrontation with Baron Corbin during a European tour after the star referred to him as “young boy” in front of the rest of the roster.
