Austin Theory Discusses First Advice From Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon Theory

WWE United States Champion Theory has discussed the first piece of advice he ever received from Vince McMahon.

Theory has become one of the breakout stars on the WWE roster in 2022 following his time on NXT as part of The Way with Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, and Indi Hartwell.

Now the mononymed star is a key part of the Raw brand and has been aligned on-screen with Vince McMahon. This memorably led to Theory taking on Pat McAfee at WrestleMania 38, which in turn led to McMahon competing against McAfee immediately after that match.

Speaking on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Theory touched on his relationship with the WWE supremo and recalled the first bit of advice he ever received from McMahon:

“I remember standing right at the mirror at [The Gorilla Position], which is right before you go out, and Mr.McMahon was walking up to go into Gorilla and he told me, ‘Go out there and be confident like I know you are.’ I remember that was like the first message that really resonated with me and this was since we had that meeting, which was probably maybe a few weeks before, so this was the first thing I was really hearing right before I was gonna perform.”

“That kind of sat with me and I was like, ‘He knows I’m confident, and I know I’m confident and I’m not going to go out there and do something that I don’t know how to do. So, I know I got here so let’s go out there and work.’”
