Austin Theory Defends Professional Wrestling, Threatens To Strike Australian Journalist [Video]

Austin Theory has defended the honour of professional wrestling.

Earlier in the year, Grayson Waller went viral for his comments and actions on an Australian talk show. As the host and floor manager joked about wrestling, Waller became heated and threatened to punch the member of the production team. Many praised Waller for his actions and defending the real-life risks associated with wrestling.

Two days before WWE Elimination Chamber Waller’s close friend Theory has also found himself involved in a verbal altercation with a different member of the Australian media. Appearing at the offices of The West Australian, Theory was approached by editor-in-chief Anthony De Ceglie, who claimed that wrestling was fake and that Superstars are not actually hitting each other.

Theory became heated and threatened to show the editor how fake wrestling is:

“You brought me here and you’re going to talk to me like this? Just cause you’re in charge of some sh*t doesn’t mean you can talk to me like this. You’re saying what I do is easy and you’re in front of all of your people talking about my job is easy … you couldn’t walk a damn day in my shoes. Are you kidding me man? I will smack the sh*t outta you right now. I’m not playing around. Y’all bring me all the way out here for some media and this guy is talking his f*cking head off. What’s his problem?”

The events were recapped on The West Australian’s website, who state that De Cleglie believes that wrestling is not as “hard” as Aussie rules football or rugby league, antagonising Austin Theory in the process.

Seeing the funny side of the altercation, the article cites a member of staff named Kay Fabe, who recalled their reaction to the events that took place:

“I was seriously worried about what was going to happen. Thankfully security stepped in. Anthony was genuinely worried.”

Prior to the interview, Austin Theory spoke to the outlet and discussed his terrifying near miss.
