The finish to Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley at WWE Bad Blood didn’t go according to plan…

WWE Bad Blood saw various surprise returns to the company. One such return was that of Raquel Rodriguez who shockingly helped Liv Morgan retain the Women’s World Championship over Rhea Ripley in her first appearance on programming in almost eight months.

Rodriguez’s appearance caused the highly-anticipated clash between Morgan and Ripley to end in a disqualification, a result some found surprising given the long-term build to their match. However, it now appears the finish went off-script from the original plans.

Fightful Select reports that there’s been an implication that Morgan was supposed to beat Ripley, with Rodriguez helping her behind the referee’s back. However, the referee ended up clearly seeing Raquel’s interference and couldn’t justify not calling for a disqualification at that point.

It’s unclear at this time if the last-minute change will affect creative plans for Ripley and Morgan’s feud going forward. Morgan’s next PLE match is already set, however, as she will take on WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax to crown the inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Champion at Crown Jewel next month.

Liv Morgan Admitted She’s “A Little Sad” About Recent WWE Change

Ahead of WWE Bad Blood, Liv Morgan spoke to The New York Post about her feud with Ripley and her rise to superstardom over the last few months. A smaller topic discussed in the interview was the recent decision to reduce the number of non-televised live events the company runs.

Morgan admitted that the move makes her feel “a little sad” as it allows talent to perform for fans on a more intimate level and, on a personal level, helped her get more comfortable in the ring during her early WWE career.

Following the match, Liv Morgan pitched her dream match for SummerSlam with CM Punk as one of the opponents.
