Asuka sported a very familiar horror mask during her match against Becky Lynch.
The Empress of Tomorrow Asuka is known for her striking entrance and the colourful masks she wears while coming to the ring. Whether it’s to psych out her opponents or pay homage to her Japanese roots, The Empress always manages to pull focus during her entrance. Asuka did so again on July 4th, but with a very familiar mask.
While coming to the ring for her No Holds Barred Match against her rival Becky Lynch on Monday Night Raw, Asuka was sporting a Jason Voorhees hockey mask. The iconic horror mask is from Friday the 13th, in which a serial killer stalked teenagers at Camp Crystal Lake.
The Empress has been stalking Lynch since her return a couple of months back. The two have had a storied rivalry dating back to when Asuka defeated Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the 2019 Royal Rumble. Lynch’s desire to be back on top of the mountain as Raw Women’s Championship remains at the heart of this story. The former champ did get a measure of vindication when she defeated Asuka last night in the main event.

The former NXT Champion sporting the iconic hockey mask may be about her always coming back to haunt Lynch. Although Lynch defeated her last night, there’s no telling when The Empress will again come back to halt Lynch’s momentum.
