Asuka Comments On Return Rumours

Asuka has responded to reports suggesting that she had been medically cleared to return to the ring.

On March 4th, reports began to circulate suggesting that former Raw Women’s Champion Asuka had been cleared to return to action.

As the rumours, speculation and everything in between started to circulate on social media, the news made its way to the woman herself. However, the Empress of Tomorrow was quick to pour cold water on the reports.

Responding to the report itself, she wrote “Am I medically cleared?” Then after a fan had written that they were happy to hear she was healed up, the star replied “Not yet” with a sad face emoji.

The former Raw Women’s Champion hasn’t been seen inside a WWE ring since Money In The Bank on July 18th 2021. While there has been official confirmation from WWE regarding the reason for Asuka’s absence, it has been reported that the Japanese star was dealing with an injury.

In the lead-up to the 2022 Royal Rumble it was suggested that the former champion had been cleared to return and there was a chance that should would be appearing at the event. However, the show came and went without the former NXT star. A report following the Royal Rumble noted that Asuka was considered “not physically ready” to return.

It was recently reported that as of February the long-term absentee was still listed as “inactive” internally. WWE source said that the optimistic return date for the star is “around spring.” No creative has been “cooked up” for the former NXT Women’s Champion as she’s still unavailable.

Top talents within the company are said to have “not heard an update on Asuka in a while.”
