Ronda Rousey has enjoyed an impressive 2022 inside the squared circle. The star returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble where she won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match setting up a WrestleMania clash with Charlotte Flair. Despite losing to Flair at the event, she quickly avenged the loss and won the SmackDown Women’s Title.
Although Rousey later lost the championship to Liv Morgan, she won it back at Extreme Rules and has appeared as dominant as ever. However, while she remains an impressive force in the ring, she has previously come in for some criticism for her promos, something she has admitted she finds more nerve-wracking than her actual matches. But help could now be at hand from an unlikely source.
Ariel “Heelwani” Believes he Could Help Ronda Rousey
Speaking in a recent Q&A section of his podcast the MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani said that he would like to join forces with Rousey, delivering her promos for her while she handles the wrestling. The reporter/interviewer/podcaster said that the link up would be easy and makes a lot of sense.
“I could have and could help Ronda Rousey. Yep, yep. Can’t beat that. Not great on the mic, not believable, little too stiff,” Helwani said. “Have me, the voice of the voiceless, the voice of MMA, the voice of combat sports, come out there and cut promos on her behalf. That’s what I wanna do. I don’t wanna cut promos on my behalf, I wanna cut promos on other people’s behalf.
“Night and day, easy job, easy job. She’s legit. She’s a real fighter. She’s a real badass. She snapped people’s arms. You get caught in one of those things, you’re done. That would’ve been a fun one,”
Outside of covering MMA, Helwani has a connection with WWE via his work for BT Sports. The podcaster has previously interviewed the likes of Triple H, Charlotte Flair and Seth Rollins.
