Apollo Crews Vs Big E For Intercontinental Title Set For SmackDown

Apollo Crews & Big E

Apollo Crews is set to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Big E on the April 30th edition of SmackDown.

Crews won the Intercontinental Title from Big E at WrestleMania 37 in a Nigerian Drum Fight.

The match saw the return of Dabba-Kato, now known as Commander Azeez, to help claim the gold for Crews.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, Apollo Crews was forced to defend his title against Kevin Owens. The match swung back and forth with Owens coming within a hair’s breadth of winning the title with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. However, Crews finally picked up the win after rolling up the challenger following the distraction from Azeez.

After the match, new backstage correspondent Megan Morant, spoke to the champion who said his ancestors were celebrating his victory. Big E then appeared attacking Crews, before the pair were separated by officials. This is not the first time that tempers have flared between the two as the pair clashed on multiple occasions during the run up to WrestleMania.

A massive Universal Title match with potentially huge ramifications for the career of Daniel Bryan has also been announced for the upcoming edition of the blue brand.

After refusing the chance to offer Cesaro a title opportunity, champion Roman Reigns made a challenge of his own. Saying that he never liked Bryan, Reigns offered him one last chance to fight for his title. Cesaro urged his friend to accept the opportunity but Reigns had one final stipulation to add.

‘The Head of the Table’ told Bryan that if Reigns defeats him then he never wants to see Bryan on SmackDown ever again.

Daniel Bryan has recently discussed how his time as a full-time wrestler might be coming to an end.
