Would Cristiano Ronaldo be a success in WWE?
Ronaldo has become one of the most iconic football players of the modern era, achieving success domestically with Real Madrid and on an international level as part of the Euro 2006 winning Portuguese national team. With many sports stars not just wanting to achieve greatness in one sport, would Ronaldo ever want to enter the squared circle?

NXT star Apollo Crews was asked about the possibility of Ronaldo in WWE by Alistair McGeorge of Metro. In the interview, Crews stated that the legend of the football world has the right mentality to compete in a wrestling ring:
“Honestly, with that mentality to be a top athlete in the world on that level, I think just on the mentality alone he would’ve done okay. When you start the physical part, that’s a different story though, for most people. But again, [he’s] a world-class athlete so I wouldn’t put it past him.”
WWE has seen multiple crossover stars compete in recent years, with former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey, YouTube star and boxer Logan Paul and musician Bad Bunny all compete in matches at WrestleMania.
In regards to Ronaldo’s football career, the former Manchester United Star has stated that he wants to retire from the sport at age 40. As Cristiano Rolando was 37 at the end of the 2022 World Cup, the Qatar tournament was his last. The Portuguese team would make it to the quarter finals of the tournament, shockingly being eliminated by Morocco.
Portugal have never won the FIFA World Cup, the trophy being the only major prize that has alluded Ronaldo throughout his illustrious career.
If Cristiano Ronaldo signed with WWE, expect Sheamus to be one of the first opponents. The former WWE Champion and Liverpool FC fan has previously criticised the striker, stating that he would not last long in a WWE ring.
