Former EVOLVE Superstar, Anthony Greene, made his NXT debut on last night’s Halloween Havoc go-home show.
Greene, who was unveiled as one of WWE’s newest recruits on October 7 alongside former EVOLVE valet Brandi Lauren, was the participant in Timothy Thatcher’s Thatch-as-Thatch-can segment in which the submission specialist takes a member of the roster or a trainee and uses them to show the audience how to apply a particular submission hold.
Answering the call, Anthony Greene didn’t last long and tapped to Thatcher’s offence only to find that the machine refused to release the hold and synched it in even further.
Once the hold had been relinquished, Greene tried to make a name for himself by attacking Thatcher from behind but found himself on the defensive before the NXT star called for an official to count to three despite the exhibition not being a bout.
Better known for his colourful retro character in EVOLVE, Greene had previously made his WWE debut on the October 16 205 Live when he was part of a Gauntlet Match which also included Curt Stallion and Ariya Daivari.
Before joining NXT, Greene reigned as Limitless Wrestling World Champion when he defeated AEW Superstar MJF to lift the strap on September 6, 2019 at Limitless: Know Your Enemy. He was still champion at time of signing with WWE and vacated his gold after successfully defending it against Ashley Vox on October 7, 2020, at Limitless The Road XI.
