Anthony Bowens – “Scissoring Is A Sign Of Friendship, You Can Do It With Your Mom”

Anthony Bowens & Max Caster - The Acclaimed

Anthony Bowens has claimed that scissoring is the ultimate sign of friendship.

After having previously worked as a singles wrestler, Bowens joined forces with Max Caster shortly after signing with AEW in late 2020. Since then the pair have become one of the most popular acts on the roster while they captured the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Dynamite: Grand Slam in September 2022.

As well as Caster’s raps, the duo’s association with “Daddy Ass” and scissoring hand gesture has taken their popularity to a whole new level.

Speaking to Simon Miller, Anthony Bowens admitted that he’s still struggling to process just how popular the group has become.

“I still haven’t really processed it. Stepping back from crazy Anthony Bowens right now, truly, I haven’t processed it. I’m just grateful and thankful that we’ve been able to build a connection with the audience to the point where they go crazy, and all everybody wants to do, anywhere I go, is scissor. Everybody wants to scissor.

That personal connection means even more to us than just being able to go out there and wrestle because we can wrestle anywhere. We wrestled on the Indies for ten years in front of everybody – well, some people, but then you get to this magnitude, and you see how you’re affecting people positively. It’s incredible.”

“Don’t Ever Look At Urban Dictionary” – Anthony Bowens

Although the Urban Dictionary lists “scissoring” as something you definitely shouldn’t do with your grandmother, Bowens joked that it’s perfectly fine.

“Don’t ever look at Urban Dictionary. Scissoring is solely a sign of friendship. You can do it with your mom, your dad, your grandma, your brother, and your friend. Scissor everybody that you can and let them know that you are a true friend and that you love The Acclaimed,”

The Acclaimed were most recently in action on the April 26th episode of Rampage teaming with Billy Gunn to defeat Cameron Stewart, Dante Casanova, and Ryzin.
