Roman Reigns is not the only name scheduled to be at the next WWE SmackDown taping.
Closing out a newsworthy SummerSlam, Roman Reigns made his first appearance since WrestleMania at the PLE in Cleveland and attacked Solo Sikoa to allow Cody Rhodes to retain the Undisputed Championship. It was later confirmed that Reigns would be appearing live on the August 9th episode of SmackDown at The BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma in what will be his first televised appearance not as the champion since 2020. According to a new report, another former World Champion is also expected.
As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, AJ Styles is also scheduled to be at the taping in Tulsa. Styles last competed in a WWE televised match at Clash at the Castle in Scotland, losing to Cody Rhodes in an “I Quit” match to bring their feud to a close. Following the defeat, Styles defeated Naomichi Marufuji in a match for Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Destination 2024 event in what was one of many crossover appearances for contracted stars in 2024. Additionally, Styles has also competed in house show matches as part of WWE’s recent tour of Japan.
