With WWE returns very much en vogue in August 2022, another former WWE Superstar has teased a potential reunion with the sports entertainment giant.
In recent weeks WWE have stepped boldly into a new era, and that new era seems to involve a lot of former Superstars heading back to the company.
While Vince McMahon only retired from WWE less than a month ago, stars such as Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, Scarlett and Hit Row have already made their returns. It has also been reported that a return for previously wantaway stars Sasha Banks and Naomi is just around the corner.
Another man who seemingly wants to get in on the action is Lio Rush. In a new post on social media, Rush shared a number of photos from his time on Monday Night Raw alongside Bobby Lashley, without any caption or explanation.
The star hasn’t appeared in WWE since being released by the company in April 2020 as a result of “budget cuts.” Since then Rush has appeared for numerous promotions across the independent scene as well as a short stint in AEW.
The high-flyer later criticised WWE for their ongoing mass cuts following a number of releases in November 2021. Rush slammed the process as “toxic,” adding that it was causing mental health problems for performers.
Lio Rush signed with the company in 2017, appearing in NXT, 205 Live and later Monday Night Raw, notably alongside Bobby Lashley. However, his time with the company was marred by reports of backstage heat with a number of veterans including Mark Henry.
