Another Former WWE Star Signs With AEW; Debuts on Dynamite 10/02

The Hurt Business Shelton Benjamin MVP Bobby Lashley WWE AEW

After MVP, another former WWE star has made their way into AEW.

Last week, fans were treated to the surprise debut of former WWE United States Champion, MVP. Soon after, MVP teased a collaboration with Swerve Strickland and continued the thrill this week with another future partnership with TBS Champion Mercedes Mone.

However, Strickland’s manager, Prince Nana appeared on tonight’s episode hoping to answer MVP’s offer, when another former WWE star, Shelton Benjamin made his debut. Montel Vontavious Porter introduced Benjamin as his business partner, who then stopped Nana mid-way through his promo. Benjamin then grabbed his cup of coffee, took a sip, and walked away.

As the former Raw tag-team champion appeared on television, the Pittsburg erupted in cheers and roars. With only Bobby Lashley left for The Hurt Business/Syndicate to become whole, fans can expect The Almighty One to appear next week during the WrestleDream PPV.

The latest report from Fightful Select notes that both Benjamin and Lashley have locked in a new deal with the Jacksonville-based promotion. MVP is expected to work as the manager of Benjamin and Lashley.

Jay White Has Finally Returned To AEW

After an absence of almost three months, ‘The Switchblade’ Jay White has finally returned from his injury. White returned on Dynamite’s 5th-anniversary episode to save his friend Juice Robinson from Adam Page’s attack.

White appeared and presumably resumed his feud against Page. ‘The Switchblade’ was last seen in a losing encounter against ‘The Hangman’ back in July during the Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament semi-final. With Jay White now back, fans can expect to see Page in a fresh new feud.

In other news: ROH World Tag Team Champion Sammy Guevara has suffered a serious injury.
