Another AEW Star Expected To Sign With WWE When Contract Expires

Another former champion in AEW looks set to leave the promotion when their contract expires and is set to be the latest name to join WWE.

As contract news continues to dominate the wrestling news headlines in 2024, stars from every major promotion around the world have elected to explore free agency instead of choosing to re-sign with their current company. With recent reports stating that Bobby Lashley will leave WWE in a few days and The Lucha Bros looking to leave AEW when their contracts expire, Ricky Starks looks to be the latest name to be waiting out their current deal.

As reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former Tag Team Champion is expected to be WWE-bound soon as he has not re-signed with All Elite Wrestling and turned down a program with his former tag team partner:

Ricky Starks who hasn’t been used, also fits into the category as he’s very much within wrestling expected to go to WWE when his deal is up. He hasn’t signed a new deal and he turned down an angle for Big Bill to turn on him where he’d be a babyface and now be used anymore

Starks last competed on an episode of Collision on March 30th.

Further Indication AEW Star Is Leaving Company

While the specific contract expiration dates of the aforementioned stars remain unknown, there has been a further indication that one former champion may be exiting very soon. Despite being previously advertised for an independent show, one AEW star has since been removed from the event.
