Anna Jay Reveals Brodie Lee Advice That “Helped A Lot”

Anna Jay of The Dark Order has revealed the best piece of advice ever given to her by the group’s leader ‘The Exalted One’ Brodie Lee.

Jay joined Dark Order in June 2020 after the group recruited her following a shock loss to Abadon on AEW Dynamite. Christening her as ’99’ Brodie Lee took great pride in welcoming the first female competitor to the group. Anna Jay’s career went from strength to strength as she formed a bond with Tay Conti and earned the nickname ‘Queen Slayer’ after choking out Brandi Rhodes after Dark Order decimated the Nightmare Family when Brodie Lee defeated Cody for the TNT Championship.

Unfortunately, as we all know, the story is not all a happy one as Brodie Lee tragically died in December 2020 at the age of 41. An emotional Anna Jay competed on The Celebration Of Brodie Lee’s Life edition of Dynamite where she teamed with Conti to defeat Dr. Britt Baker and Penelope Ford.

Anna Jay was due to be part of the AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament at the beginning of the year but injury curtailed that opportunity. Jay was forced to undergo shoulder surgery with a prognosis that she could miss 6-12 months of action in the ring.

Speaking on a special episode of Oral Sessions hosted by Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay, Anna Jay discussed some of the best advice Mr. Brodie Lee ever gave her.

Jay stated:

“He always said, you know, whenever I went out there, like basically to treat it, like, it was real, obviously you don’t hurt anyone, but just to go out there and just have the mindset of like, this is real and it will be portrayed that way. So that helped a lot.”

Although currently out of action, 22-year-old Anna Jay recently made headlines when Jungle Boy seemingly announced the pair’s relationship to the world with a post on social media.
