Angel Garza Wants To Compete At WrestleMania

Angel Garza

With WrestleMania 37 only a matter of weeks away, Raw Superstar Angel Garza has been discussing his hopes to appear on ‘the grandest stage of them all’ this year.

Garza is probably best known for his tag-team with Andrade – the duo being managed by Zelina Vega. Andrade would be replaced by Austin Theory to face the Street Profits at last year’s WrestleMania in an unsuccessful attempt to win the Raw Tag Team Championships.

Since the dissolution of that team, Garza has not been as prominently featured on television. Participating mainly in 24/7 Championship segments, winning the title on one occasion.

Speaking to ViBe & Wrestling, Garza spoke of his hopes for a place on the card at this year’s massive event.

Garza stated:

“Of course, I hope so. Day by day, Monday by Monday, that is what we are training for. From the moment WrestleMania 36 was over, we start training hard and looking forward to the next WrestleMania. We wrestle every single Monday to get that spot, to get an opportunity and, if it’s not the tag titles like last year, for sure there will be other opportunities.”

“WrestleMania will be a two-night event so hopefully I can get a slot; I can get a match in one of those nights. Every Monday we work hard so we can get a match at WrestleMania.”

In years gone by WrestleMania has featured matches to ensure Superstars not involved in featured storylines are still part of the show. The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal began in 2014, with the first official Women’s WrestleMania Battle Royal debuting in 2018. Neither of these matches took place last year with WrestleMania being held behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A third-generation wrestler, Angel Garza has competed on Raw twice in 2021, losing both times to Damien Priest.
