Amidst speculation regarding his long term future with AEW, Andrade El Idolo has spoken on his current relationship with Triple H.
Andrade El Idolo has found himself in the headlines multiple times this week following an explosive interview with Más Lucha, in which he spoke about backstage issues with Sammy Guevara.
The two men then engaged in a Twitter spat before clashing backstage at last night’s Dynamite, resulting in Andrade being sent home from the taping.
This incident has fuelled rumours that Andrade is trying to get fired from AEW and return to WWE.
During the Más Lucha interview, the former NXT Champion opened up on his current relationship with Triple H:
“He gave me an opportunity and helped me a lot in NXT and I spoke to him when I requested my release. We are on good terms, and he always mentioned that I can keep in contact with him.”
Elaborating on their relationship. Andrade certainly seemed open to working with Triple H again in the future:
“I cannot say that I have contacted him recently, but it is difficult due to legalities. And if he wanted to speak to me, my wife (Charlotte Flair) works there, so he can always reach out to me from there too. There is lots of stuff happening, including people saying I want to go back to Triple H, but I don’t want to speak too much about that.”
Andrade was scheduled to face Dark Order’s ’10’ in a “Career vs. Mask” match on this Friday’s Rampage, but that match was scrapped following the backstage altercation with Guevara, leaving El Idolo’s AEW future hanging in the balance.
