Andrade El Idolo has hinted that change could be on the way as rumours around his AEW future continue.
In recent weeks and months speculation around a number of AEW stars has hit an all-time high.
Following one talent meeting it was reported that Megha Parekh, AEW’s Chief Legal Officer and the promotion’s second in command had emailed WWE’s Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon, warning them “not to tamper” with talent.
The warning as made after it was rumoured that WWE had contacted multiple stars about moving to the sports entertainment giant. One of those contacted was believed to be Malakai Black, who later admitted that he had asked to be released.
Furthermore, Buddy Matthews, another former WWE Superstar has recently hinted that his time in AEW could be over after commenting that he needs to “go away for a while.” While it is unconfirmed whether Matthews had been contacted by WWE, his name was linked alongside that of Andrade El Idolo.
Posting on social media, Andrade El Idolo has now added more fuel to the fire by sharing an emoji of an hourglass, hinting that time could be running out. The former WWE star hasn’t wrestled in AEW since All Out on September 4th, and was notable for his absence across both recent Grand Slam shows.

Andrade El Idolo signed with AEW in June 2021 after being released by WWE in March. Of those linked with a return to WWE it should be noted that many of the names including Malakai Black and Andrade found success in NXT under the guidance of WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H who has now assumed control of the main roster.
Interestingly, Andrade, Matthews and Black also all have partners who currently work for WWE.
