Andrade El Idolo has seemingly commented on his backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara.
In the leadup to the October 5th episode of AEW Dynamite Tony Khan took to social media to announce that a planned match for Rampage two days later had been scrapped. The bout in question was the “Career vs. Mask” match between Andrade El Idolo and the Dark Order’s 10.
At the time no reason for the move was given although it quickly became very clear. Ahead of Dynamite the social media war of words between Andrade and Sammy Guevara reached boiling point as the pair got into a physical confrontation backstage. The end result was Andrade being sent home, while Guevara appeared in the main event was planned.
As the chaos played out and fans tried to learn what was going on, Andrade shared a post on social media which simply said “Respect me and I’ll respect u.” Although not initially clear what the star was referencing, as reports of the altercation with Guevara came out, fans began to join the dots.

A report from Fightful Select noted that Andrade was the aggressor in the confrontation, although some claimed he was pushed by Guevara. The report also notes that both men had previously agreed that there wouldn’t be a physical altercation.
These comments fall in line with other reports where it was suggested that Andrade punched Guevara twice while the TNT Champion tried not to get involved. It has also been claimed that Andrade purposely instigated the incident in an effort to get fired so that he can return to WWE.
