Despite Andrade & Angel Garza being prominent features of the RAW tag team division since first forming in March, it looks like we may have seen the last of the two as a tag team for now.
Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, plans have changed for the duo and the team is “no more moving forward.”
They last competed at Clash of Champions just over a week ago, failing to capture the RAW Tag Team Championship from the Street Profits in their second attempt on pay-per-view. They also failed to capture the tag titles at this past SummerSlam and were originally set to challenge at WrestleMania before Andrade suffered a rib injury and was replaced by NXT’s Austin Theory.
Signs of the duo’s imminent split have been present for some time, with Zelina Vega quitting her managing role of the team to pursue an in-ring career as a result of in-fighting between the two Mexican stars. Assuming Andrade moves back to singles action, this marks the first time he will compete without Vega as his manager since the two formed an alliance in NXT over three years ago.
It is currently unclear what direction WWE plans to go with either man, but keep an eye out for any updates here at Inside The Ropes.
