Is Chris Jericho coming back to WWE or staying with AEW?

Absent from AEW television since April, Chris Jericho’s future at the Jacksonville-based promotion has been questionable recently. He was last seen losing his ROH World Championship to Bandido at Dynasty 2025.

With Jericho’s contract allegedly expiring at the end of this year, there have been rumors about him possibly parting ways with Khan’s promotion and returning to his former company, WWE.

However, recently appearing on Torg And Elliott, AEW President Tony Khan opened up about Chris Jericho’s potential return to All Elite Wrestling.

“Chris Jericho has been here since the very beginning. I have so much great respect for Chris Jericho. I would love to have Chris in AEW any time. We absolutely want Chris Jericho back in AEW, and hopefully soon. He’s been great with us and been with us since the first event. The very first AEW World Champion, and Chris is a huge part of the history in AEW and is still in great shape and a great wrestler.”

He further claimed,

“Stay tuned to the show. That’s one of the reasons you watch the wrestling show, to see the returns.”

Chris Jericho Gets Honest About His WWE Return Chances

Earlier this month, while speaking with the Daily Mail (via Denise Salcedo) during Halloween Horror Nights, Chris Jericho shared an honest statement about his WWE return chances.

The best thing that could happen in wrestling is AEW, and the fact that there’s two huge promotions that you can choose from just makes it better for the guys. It makes it better for the fans and everybody in between. So I’m not going anywhere for a while.

m still with AEW for right now. Would I go back to WWE? I wouldn’t be opposed to it; we’ll just have to see what happens. But the best thing that could happen is to have two great teams that you can play for, and that just makes everything bigger and more exciting.”
