The American Dream Cody Rhodes is set to go one on one with Anthony Ogogo at AEW Double or Nothing.
Yes, you read that right. Cody Rhodes has adopted the famous ‘American Dream’ moniker from his late father Dusty Rhodes. In a heated promo on AEW Dynamite, Rhodes described the name as the sword only he or his brother could pick up.
During the monologue, Rhodes verbally attacked Ogogo for his perceived hypocrisy in criticising America while collecting an American pay cheque, and enjoying all of the freedoms that the country allows.
Rhodes and Ogogo have been on a collision course since the Olympian joined forces with QT Marshall, Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto back in March.
On last week’s episode of Dynamite, Ogogo once again attacked Rhodes leaving him laying under a Union Jack flag.
Also announced for Double or Nothing on May 30th, Hikaru Shida will defend her AEW Women’s World Title against Britt Baker.
Baker has steadily risen up the rankings in recent weeks and months and now finds herself occupying the number one spot. Baker finally topped the rankings after Tay Conti was unsuccessful in her attempt to dethrone the champion on the April 21st edition of AEW Dynamite.
Meanwhile, Hikaru Shida has held the AEW Women’s World Title for almost a year, after winning the belt at the 2020 edition of Double or Nothing.
AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will also be in action defending his title against either Orange Cassidy or PAC.
The two potential challengers are set to meet in a World Title eliminator on AEW Dynamite.
