Amanda Nunes & American Top Team Appear At AEW Road Rager

Amanda Nunes American Top Team

Fans of mixed martial arts got a surprise if they were tuned into AEW Road Rager as Amanda Nunes, Jorge Masvidal, and Dan Lambert all appeared on the show.

Amanda Nunes is a tour de force inside the MMA cage with the Brazillian boasting a career record of 21 wins and four losses with 17 of those wins coming by knockout or submission. She is currently a double champion in UFC as she holds both the UFC Featherweight and UFC Bantamweight Championships, marking her out as the premiere female fighter in the world.

Nunes was former Raw Women’s Champion ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey’s final opponent in the octagon with the referee stopping that bout as Nunes reigned down a flurry of punches on the once invincible Rousey. Amanda Nunes also shared the octagon with former NXT Women’s and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler in 2015. The fight that took place in Nunes’ native Brazil came to an end after she took put Baszler with a devastating leg kick.

Thirty-six-year-old Jorge Masvidal has an impressive MMA record as well with 35 wins and 15 losses to his name. He currently holds the record for fastest knockout in a UFC fight after he nailed Ben Askren with a flying knee in an unbelievable 5 seconds at UFC 239 in 2019.

Both Masvidal and Nunes are trained by American Top Team which was founded by Dan Lambert. The gym boasts an embarrassment of riches with the fighters it has trained including Andrei Arlovski and current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.

Lambert, Masvidal, and Nunes were all seen on camera at AEW Road Rager held in Miami on Wednesday night. Lambert introduced the trio before heading into the ring and cutting an incredible yet scathing promo on the All Elite Wrestling product.

With words that could have been written by notable podcasters and AEW critics, Lambert lambasted AEW as a joke as he described longing for the days of Championship Wrestling from Florida in the halcyon days of the seventies and eighties.

With the crowd in Miami not happy with Lambert’s words, they were delighted when ‘The Murderhawk Monster’ Lance Archer made his presence felt. Archer nailed Lambert in the face before shutting him up permanently with a Blackout.
