A huge WWE title match at Evolution 2025 has finally been confirmed.
Last week, on the June 30th edition of Raw, Roxanne Perez was officially announced as Liv Morgan’s replacement as one-half of the women’s tag-team championship. in a further announcement, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce revealed a major title match at the upcoming Evolution 2 PLE, pitting Perez and Rodriguez against three tag teams—one each from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.
Last week, Sol Ruca and Zaria were confirmed from NXT to face Perez and Rodriguez, while Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair from SmackDown were selected as the worthy title challengers. However, with less than a week left for the PLE, only one team from the Raw roster remained to be confirmed.
After days of waiting, tonight on the July 7th episode of Raw, fans saw Asuka and Kairi Sane come together to reunite the legendary Kabuki Warriors. Sane and Asuka then brawled against Rodriguez and Perez of The Judgment Day, following Sane’s victory over Perez.
Later, in a backstage segment, Adam Pearce officially announced Sane and Asuka (The Kabuki Warriors) as the official fourth entry for the Evolution 2025 tag-title match. The Kabuki Warriors are a former tag-team champion, having won the titles twice, once for 171 days and the other time for 99 days.
Asuka Was Supposed To Be This Former WWE Champion’s First Main Roster Match
Earlier this year, while speaking with Joe Baiamonte of Pubity, former Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria revealed that Asuka was supposed to be her first opponent during her main-roster debut.
“A match that got away from me would be to face Asuka. That would be pretty massive. When I was first debuting on Monday Night Raw, I’ll never forget watching Backlash in France and that’s when I discovered what my debut match would be, which was supposed to be Asuka. Unfortunately she got hurt and I ended up wrestling Dakota Kai, which ended up being quite poetic in itself as we circled back to me and Dakota in a big history making moment. But yeah, that would definitely be a nice match to circle back to, to get to wrestle Asuka.”
However, with ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ out injured, Valkyria had to face Dakota Kai.
