Alexander Wolfe Reacts To WWE Release

Alexander Wolfe

Alexander Wolfe has commented publicly for the first time since his release from WWE was announced by the company.

Wolfe took to social media where he is now using the name Axel The Axeman Tischer, to post a short statement confirming his departure from WWE.

Wolfe tweeted:

“Just for the record: My WWE contract will expire on June 15th. That means I’m a free agent on June 16th. I have a lot in my head right now so let’s keep it short: Thank you @WWENXT@WWEfor 6 year. Bye bye”

Alexander Wolfe was part of a host of talent from the NXT brand to be released. Other names no longer with the company include Drake Weurtz, Vanessa Borne, and Jessamyn Duke. It was later reported that the controversial Velveteen Dream has also been released from the company.

Wolfe had most recently been part of Imperium seen on the NXT and NXT UK brands. His last appearance for the company saw his teammates Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner turn on Wolfe, attacking him and kicking him out of the group after his loss to Killian Dain.

Alexander Wolfe had briefly been on the main roster as part of SAnitY. In that group, he was aligned with Dain, Nikki Cross, and Eric Young. The group held the NXT Tag Team Championship after defeating the Authors of Pain at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III in 2017. They held the gold for three months before losing the title to the Undisputed Era. The group could not then translate that success onto the main roster where they quietly disbanded in 2019.
