Alexa Bliss claimed that the person who gained the most from winning Money in the Bank was Liv Morgan.
Liv Morgan’s successful cash-in at Money In The Bank is still being discussed among wrestling circles. The former Riott Squad member climbed the ladder to retrieve the briefcase and later took advantage of a weakened Ronda Rousey to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
One person who also competed in the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match was former Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. The Goddess was also involved in a friendly feud with the Morgan heading into the show.
Bliss told Metro she believed no one else who competed in the match deserved to win more than Morgan. She speculated that fans wouldn’t have been receptive if she didn’t end up being the one clutching the briefcase at the top of the ladder.
“She deserves it, she deserves to be in the spot she’s in now. She has trained and worked her butt off and is very passionate and loves what she does. So, this is her time!
“If it was anyone else, I don’t think the match would have been perceived as well. We wanted to see Liv win, and the crowd wanted to see Liv win. She’s the choice,” she smiled. “She’s worked so hard and she deserves that win. She picked her moment, she capitalized, she pushed Becky off the ladder, there you go! Very happy for her!”
The Goddess won the briefcase in 2018 and also successfully cashed-in on the same night. After she lost at this year’s event, Bliss stated that she planned on challenging for the Raw Women’s Championship at some point down the line. She recently partnered with Asuka on Raw and briefly became the 24/7 Champion.
Meanwhile, Morgan has switched to SmackDown and defeated Natalya on July 15th. Though she will have her hands full when she defends her newly won title against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam on July 30th.
