Alexa Bliss has discussed her recent absence from WWE programming, confirming she’s “just waiting on the call” to return.
Alexa Bliss hasn’t been seen on WWE television since competing inside the Elimination Chamber in the event of the same name in February. That bout was Bliss’ first since September 2021 after being defeated by Charlotte Flair.
In the weeks leading up to Elimination Chamber, the former Raw Women’s Champion returned to WWE television where she appeared in a number of backstage ‘therapy sessions’ in an effort to control her anger.
While part of Bliss’ absence can be attributed to her recent wedding and subsequent honeymoon, a report has also claimed that the star had grown increasingly frustrated with her role within WWE. The report suggested that Bliss there had been “no substantial creative direction” for her character, and she had made her displeasure known.
Talent and creative were reportedly told that Alexa Bliss was “very transparent” regarding her frustration at not being booked in something substantial at being out of action for half a year. There was also word backstage that Bliss had voiced this frustration directly to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
At time of writing there has been no concrete date given for Bliss’ return, but speaking in a recent interview with Adam’s Apple, the star said that she hopes to be back soon, adding she’s “just waiting for the call.”
Continuing on, Bliss said that she had been “ready to go” since Elimination Chamber.
