Aleister Black hasn’t been seen on WWE television since being defeated by Kevin Owens on Monday Night RAW on October 12th 2020.
However, could that be about to change?
According to PWInsider, the former NXT Champion has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center over the the past several weeks.
This comes of the back of an earlier report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, which noted that Black was dealing with “some minor injuries.” The report went to add that the injuries were not the main reason behind Black’s inactivity, which is more likely down to not being one of “Vince’s favourites.”
Another of the Superstars mentioned alongside Black by The Observer, Buddy Murphy has also recently returned to television. After being involved in a storyline with the Mysterio family and Seth Rollins in November, Murphy disappeared from television.
Following his return on SmackDown, Murphy teased a potential match with Aleister Black, asking
“Wonna steal the show at WrestleMania?”
The pair have previously faced off in multiple matches throughout late 2019 and early 2020, with the striking man from Amsterdam picking up victories on every occasion. Murphy’s final loss to Black caused him to snap and join the Monday Night Messiah Seth Rollins as one of his disciples.
If the match ended up taking place at Raymond James Stadium next, it will be the second singles match for each superstar at WrestleMania. Last year, Black defeated Bobby Lashley on night 1 of WWE’s biggest event of the year. On the pre-show to WrestleMania 35, Buddy Murphy lost his Cruiserweight Championship to Tony Nese.
WrestleMania 37 will take place on Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, April 11th at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
