Aleister Black Posts Mysterious New Vignette

By Lyle Kilbane. Published 17th April 2021.
Aleister Black

Aleister Black has posted a new vignette on social media hinting at a possible impending return to WWE television for the former NXT Champion.

Black’s last WWE match came in October 2020 when he was defeated in a No Disqualification match by Kevin Owens on Raw. Black was part of the WWE draft around the same time, switching from the red brand to SmackDown. Black’s wife Zelina Vega was then released from WWE in November 2020, adding to speculation surrounding Black’s future.

The Dutchman has now posted a vignette on Instagram showing Black interspersed with moments from his WWE career.

During the video, a menacing Aleister Black says:

“Forgive me Father for I have sinned. It’s been four years since my last confession. Four years of perpetuating this lie about who I am and who I’m not. But I seem to have stumbled into your woods once again and this time I won’t heed the call. It’s time to cull the herd.”

Black accompanied the video with the caption:

“Black Arts part 8. Chapter 0: forgive me, father.”

Aleister Black joined WWE in late 2016, debuting in NXT under his former ring name Tommy End. He rechristened himself Aleister Black at the beginning of 2017 before making his on-screen debut at NXT TakeOver: Orlando. In that match, Black defeated recent WWE departee, Andrade. One year later at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans the two men met again with Black this time winning the NXT Championship from Andrade.

Black then debuted on Raw in 2019 before forming a tag team with another recent NXT call-up Ricochet. The team split after Black was originally drafted to SmackDown in April 2019.
