The ever-reliable WrestleVotes is reporting how Aleister Black was recently denied a move back to NXT, after requesting to rejoin the black and gold brand.
The news emerged following the release of Aleister Black’s real-life wife, Zelina Vega, which it’s now reported was the fallout from WWE’s third-party edict that required talents close their accounts on platforms like Twitch, Cameo, etc.
WrestleVotes tweeted that “Black’s recently requested move back to NXT” was denied – but stated that it can’t directly be tied to the news of Vega’s release.
There’s a bit more behind the scenes to the Zelina Vega release. Frustration from both sides is an understatement. While it can’t be directly tied to today’s news, Aleister Black recently requested to move back to NXT and was denied. Dissension amongst the parties involved.

Aleister Black is currently working on the SmackDown brand after he and Zelina Vega were moved to the blue brand in the draft, although the former NXT Champion has been limited to sporadic appearances on both RAW and SmackDown for the past few months.
While Vega was on WWE television, she and Black only appeared in the same segment once, with Vega managing the faction of Andrade, Angel Garza and Austin Theory – who had a run-in with Black ahead of his involvement in the rivalry between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio. Black’s eye was then rammed into the steel steps – a facsimile of the fate suffered by Mysterio – and he would subsequently undergo a slight character tweak.
