Aleister Black Discusses Wife Zelina Vega’s WWE Release

Aleister Black Zelina Vega

Appearing on a recent episode of Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Aleister Black discussed the WWE release of his wife Zelina Vega (Thea Trinidad) in November 2020.

Vega’s departure from the company came after WWE issued an edict that Superstars needed to end their relationships with third parties such as Twitch. Vega who has a large following on Twitch among other platforms ended up at odds with WWE over the issue, and this eventually led to her release.

Despite Vega’s release Black remained with the company until he was let go on June 2nd.

Looking back at his wife’s departure, Black discussed the position it left him in, while commenting that Vega left “under reasons that are questionable.” However, the man also known as Tommy End was quick to add that everything was later “sorted out.”

“Two weeks before I came back and hit Big E, I sat down with Vince and he was like, ‘Are you ready?’ One week later, I’m sitting in the gym and I see a name on the phone calling me. It was a distinct voice and this person also didn’t understand why I was let go. It was a sense of relief. They let my wife go, under reasons that are questionable. Everything got sorted out and is fine, but they called me and said, ‘We understand this is putting you in a tough spot.’ Nope, this is my career, I spoke about it with her and this is business between you and her. Does Tom, her husband have an opinion on it? Sure. Does Aleister Black the professional? Nope. He’s ready to go to work and create. She agreed,”

Black’s recent release came as a surprise to many as the former NXT Champion had only returned to TV in recent weeks after a lengthy absence.

It had also been reported that WWE were working towards having Vega return to the company.

As reported by Fightful Select, Thea Trinidad known as Zelina Vega in WWE, had been spotted at the WWE Performance Center. The report noted that Trinidad wasn’t just visiting, and her appearance was being filmed.

It is currently unclear what impact, if any, Black’s release will have on any plans surrounding Vega.
