Aleister Black has returned to WWE programming for the first time in over six months, showing a new side of himself as part of a cryptic new vignette!
On the latest edition of SmackDown, Black made his first appearance since being drafted to the blue brand during the WWE Draft last October. He read from a book entitled ‘Tales of the Dark Father’ and recalled how he learnt to become ‘The Dragon’ rather than fight against it as a child as an animation, in the same style as those used to introduce NXT’s Tian Sha, accompanied his monologue.
Black went on to berate the viewers and claimed they should be “scorched from the earth to make room for more fertile things” before fading away in a cloud of smoke. Despite being a key part of his ensemble prior to his absence, Black’s trademark eyepatch was nowhere to be seen in the video.
Shortly after the vignette aired, Black posted a mysterious tweet to further build upon his return.
Aleister Black last made a televised appearance almost seven months ago when he lost a No Disqualification match to Kevin Owens on the October 12th 2020 edition of RAW. The former NXT Champion was drafted to the blue brand on the following edition of SmackDown but never made an appearance on the show until now.
