On this week’s RAW, Drew McIntyre’s opponent at WWE TLC was confirmed, as the Scottish Warrior will defend his WWE Championship against The Phenomenal AJ Styles at the final pay-per-view of 2020.
Styles booked his championship opportunity in a Sudden Death Triple Threat Match on RAW, against his Survivor Series Team RAW teammates Riddle and Keith Lee – with all three men winning qualifying matches last week against Randy Orton, Sheamus and Keith Lee respectively.

Styles would pin Riddle for the win, before making his presence felt later in the night too, delivering a Phenomenal Forearm to McIntyre as the former WWE Champion tried to convince Miz to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase to end RAW, providing the reasoning that it would be much easier to defeat The A-Lister than it would be two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Miz, Morrison and Styles would incapacitate McIntyre’s tag team partner Sheamus before delivering several finishers to McIntyre to soften him up, but some squabbling meant the Scotsman could deliver a Claymore to Miz and regain the upper hand.
While Styles did cause the match to end via disqualification, McIntyre is still WWE Champion and – barring any shock title changes before TLC – will defend the WWE Championship against AJ Styles at TLC as the pair clash for the first time ever on WWE television, having previously passed like ships in the night every time a WWE Draft rolls around.
