AJ Styles Says Samoa Joe Is “One Of The Best Wrestlers He’s Ever Seen”

AJ Styles & Samoa Joe

AJ Styles has recently heaped praise on a man who has just returned to WWE, Samoa Joe.

Styles has battled Samoa Joe in many different companies, in many different cities over the course of the last decade and a half. From ROH to IMPACT Wrestling to WWE, the pair have been tearing down houses together for the last decade and a half.

During his career, Styles has shared the ring with some of the very best wrestlers that the world has to offer. No matter what company he’s been with, Styles has always beaten the best on his way to the top. So when the former WWE Champion says that Samoa Joe is “one the best wrestlers he’s ever seen,” that’s a pretty huge compliment.

Appearing on WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves, The Phenomenal One praised Joe for not only his work inside the ring, but also behind the announce desk.

“There’s so many things about Joe that are great,” Styles said. “This guy always finds a way to do what he does best. In my personal opinion, he’s one of the best wrestlers I’ve ever seen. So many guys going ‘Oh my god, that Samoa Joe is so dangerous,’ like you have no idea how awesome he is. If you only knew how great he was with his kicks and punches, he’s just brilliant. Then he goes and commentates and he’s one of the best there too, like you gotta be kidding me.”

Styles continued, explaining that Joe is a perfect mentor for young wrestlers to look up to.

“It’s Joe, he’s always so good at everything he does, I have no doubt he’ll be the best wherever he goes and whatever he does. I feel like I’m looking in a mirror when I’m talking to Joe. Him and I, we’ve been best friends forever. Nobody better to mentor than Samoa Joe.”

Samoa Joe recently completed a stunning return to WWE two months to the day after being released by the company. Joe arrived back in NXT coming to the aid of General Manager William Regal. Joe wasted no time in making his presence felt back on the black and gold brand, starring down Karrion Kross before choking out Adam Cole.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Styles was also complimentary about another rival from his long career, John Cena. Reflecting on his time in wrestling and passing on knowledge to the next generation, Styles revealed that he learned a lot from the 16-time world champion.

Meanwhile on RAW, AJ Styles currently holds the RAW Tag Team Titles with the giant Omos. The pair won the titles at WrestleMania 37, and have so far dominated every challenger who have come their way.
