AJ Styles Reveals Heartwarming Letter & Gift He Got From Undertaker

The Undertaker AJ Styles

AJ Styles has discussed the gift and letter he received from The Undertaker following the two men competing against one another in the Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36.

WrestleMania 36 will go down in history as – hopefully – the one and only time The Show Of Shows has to go on with no fans in attendance. Rather than 70,000 excited members of the WWE Universe filling Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida getting to experience the electricity of an Undertaker entrance at WrestleMania, they and the rest of the world had to make do with watching it at home. The seemingly cruel twist of fate however did lead to one of The Undertaker’s most memorable WrestleMania appearances ever as he reprised the American Badass to fight AJ Styles in the cinematic Boneyard Match.

The match itself saw Styles and Undertaker do battle in front of what appeared to be an abandoned house. With a grave already dug ostensibly for The Undertaker, the Deadman brought the on-screen WWE careers of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to a close before burying Styles in the dirt. A triumphant Undertaker then rode off into the night sky as the sun set on his wrestling career. With his retirement officially – as officially as can be in wrestling – at Survivor Series 2020, thirty years on from his WWE debut, AJ Styles appears to be the last man to ever compete with the iconic superstar.

Speaking to Ryan Satin on the Out Of Character podcast, AJ Styles discussed the gift and letter The Undertaker sent him after Styles contacted his wife to see what he could send to the Deadman.

Styles explained:

“I called his wife [former WWE Superstar Michelle McCool] and I was like, ‘Hey, what does he want? Because I need to get him something,’” Styles said. “She was just like, ‘Hey, well, give him your gloves. That would mean a lot to him if you signed a glove.’ I was like, ‘Alright.’ Michelle hooked me up. Hopefully, that was a gift that he enjoyed. He actually sent his gloves to me with a very nice thank you letter, which meant the world to me.”

The Undertaker may have retired but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t wish he could still step into the squared circle. The Deadman recently revealed the one WWE Superstar he’d love another match against since that superstar has undergone a complete personality change.
