AJ Styles and the debuting Omos successfully defeated The New Day to capture the RAW Tag Team Championships during night one of WrestleMania 37!
During WWE’s biggest show of the year, Omos would join the history books alongside Ronda Rousey & Sting making his WWE debut at WrestleMania. The 7’2 giant would team with former WWE Champion AJ Styles to take on 11-Time Tag Team Champions The New Day during night one of the prestigious event.
Despite failing to work together successfully in the weeks leading up to their WrestleMania match, Styles & Omos showed perfect chemistry as they outwrestled Xavier Woods and former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston putting an end to the duos Tag Title reign after only 26 days and zero successful title defences.
Ultimately it was Omos that picked up the win for his team after dominating the both members of The New Day. AJ Styles came off Omos’ shoulders to hit a Phenomenal Forearm on Woods taking him out of the action, leaving Omos to land a huge Spinebuster on Kingston before pinning him with one foot. It was an incredibly impressive debut outing for the former RAW Underground security guard.
The win cemented Styles as a WWE Grand Slam Champion with the Tag Titles the only belts that had evaded him during his impressive WWE career, Styles joins the likes of Bobby Lashley in becoming WWE’s latest set of Grand Slam Champions a feat first achieved by Shawn Michaels in 1997.
Former WWE Champion The Miz remains the only two-time Grand Slam Champion following his defeat of Drew McIntyre at WWE’s 2021 Elimination Chamber PPV.
