After another battle of words, Grayson Waller challenged AJ Styles to a match in the main event of next week’s NXT 2.0.
AJ Styles and Grayson Waller have been at odds for weeks after the arrogant upstart took to social media to criticize the former WWE Champion. The Phenomenal One made his way to NXT 2.0 on the December 21st episode of NXT to confront Waller, and the young star in turn showed up on the December 27th episode of Monday Night Raw to continue their war of words.
The former WWE Champion made another appearance at New Year’s Evil to address the ongoing situation, and gave a heartfelt address to the crowd about how he never got to spend time in NXT when he came to WWE. While he made no mistake that debuting in the 2016 Royal Rumble was very cool, he said that there is something special about NXT and he wished he’d gotten to experience more of that.

When Waller made his way to the ring to interrupt Styles, the Raw Superstar admitted that he was not at 100% after being decimated by his former tag team partner Omos on Monday night. He asked if the young star wanted to take advantage of the situation and have a one on one match right now, but Waller said that he would instead defeat AJ Styles in the main event of the January 11th episode of NXT 2.0, making it the biggest victory of his career.
Oh it's like that @GraysonWWE?

The two men brawled briefly after AJ Styles accepted the challenge and Styles stood tall looking ahead to next week.
