AJ Styles Gives Update On When He May Retire

AJ Styles

AJ Styles may be 43 years old, but the former WWE Champion looks like he’s comfortably holding back the hands of time every time he steps foot in the squared circle. Having been The Undertaker’s final match, though, has The Phenomenal One thought about when he might hang up his boots?

Speaking with Graham “GSM” Matthews of Bleacher Report, Styles opened up about how long he has left in the ring.

“It’s really whenever it feels right. Some days, I feel like I can go five, six more years. And then some days, I’m like, ‘Oh, man, I can be done this year.’ As you get older, it’s just changing. You have to listen to your body and figure out what it can do next.

“With my style, it’s a bit different, so I like to push it still to this day. I’m going to go as long as I can, as long as I can stay healthy and see what happens and where it takes us.”

Matthews would probe a little further and ask if AJ Styles has thought about who might retire him, yet, but The Phenomenal One remained coy.

“I wonder if this question was posed to The Undertaker if he would’ve said AJ Styles. Probably not,” he said. “I probably wasn’t even on his list, but you never know who will be. I don’t know who that person will be, that I’ll have my last match with. I don’t know who it will be with, but that’s OK. There are plenty of wrestlers out there who could have fantastic matches with me to end my career.”
