AJ Styles Brings LA Knight Back To NXT 2.0 To Attack Their Common Foe

LA Knight Grayson Waller

After being written off television with an injury at the hands of Grayson Waller, LA Knight made his return to NXT 2.0 at the behest of AJ Styles.

Before beginning his feud with AJ Styles, Grayson Waller was embroiled in a war of both words and fists for months with the equally outspoken LA Knight.

Things came to a head on the December 14th episode of NXT when LA Knight claimed that he would make Grayson Waller pay for his actions, but was attacked by the Australian later in the show, writing him off television with an injury. Not content to injure his opponent, Waller also stole his victim’s car to add insult to injury.

Until his surprise return, LA Knight hadn’t been seen on NXT television again. Grayson Waller instead set his sights on Raw Superstar AJ Styles. After a series of insults from the loud NXT upstart in an Instagram Live video, The Phenomenal One made his way to NXT 2.0 on the December 21st episode of NXT to confront Waller, and the young star in turn showed up on the December 27th episode of Monday Night Raw to continue their war of words.

A confrontation at New Year’s Evil saw the two agree to main event the January 11th episode of NXT. A stellar main event saw plenty of back and forth action with both men looked dominant at points, but experience won out after AJ Styles’ focused attack on Grayson Waller’s leg proved too much for the upstart to overcome and Styles was able to pin Waller after a Phenomenal Forearm.

As a dejected Waller tried to recover outside the ring, the former Raw Tag Team Champion got on the microphone with one last message for his young opponent.

“Hey Waller, giving you that ass-kicking. You’re good, but you’re not Phenomenal. But your night is not over yet. I want to introduce you to one of my friends.”

The sounds of LA Knight’s theme music began to play and the returning Superstar immediately confronted the man who’d taken him out nearly a month previous. Knight chased Waller into the ring and delivered a vicious clothesline before a series of punches, eventually chucking Waller out of the ring once more and throwing him across the announce table.

After NXT 2.0 went off the air, the Phenomenal One had a message for the NXT faithful. The former WWE Champion praised and thanked the NXT crowd before leaving the brand in the capable hands of his friend LA Knight.

While the returning LA Knight is entrusted with NXT 2.0, AJ Styles is making his way back to Monday Night Raw and looks ahead to the Royal Rumble match after declaring himself as a participant on January 10th.
