Finally, after all the rumors, AJ Styles has broken his silence on the nixed TNA Hall of Fame incident.
Recently, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Total Nonstop Action originals Monty Brown and Styles were under consideration for a spot at the TNA Hall of Fame inductions.
However, the report further noted that while Styles’ former promotion approached WWE for his induction, the Stamford-based promotion passed on that opportunity. While no details were disclosed on the nix, sources indicated that AJ Styles’ injury and current storyline influenced the decision.
The incident soon took an ugly turn on the internet, when fans started bashing WWE officials, including Triple H for the decision. However, The Phenomenal One came to the rescue and broke his silence on the matter on X(Twitter).
I’m still an active wrestler…I hope. I made the decision not to go into the TNA HOF, not WWE. I appreciate TNA, but I don’t want to go into any HOF as long as I’m still active. My choice
Styles claimed as an active wrestler he decided to not enter the Hall of Fame induction. The former WWE Champion hopes to not enter any Hall of Fame inductions till his time as an active talent.
Styles recently suffered an injury upon his return on SmackDown and is currently recovering from it.
AJ Styles Discusses The Severity Of His Injury
On the October 4th edition of WWE SmackDown, Styles returned after a long hiatus. Carmelo Hayes would soon challenge him to a match. Unfortunately, the bout had to be stopped mid-way after Styles suffered an injury.
Soon after, several conflicting reports emerged about his injury status until The Phenomenal One himself declared the severity of his injury. On October 15th, when fans debated the legitimacy of his injury, AJ Styles himself disclosed the details.
It’s called a Lisfranc injury. Look it up, it sucks! I thought when I took off my boot. I would have a bone sticking out of my foot.”
Still recovering, Styles is yet to come back to the squared circle.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes would like to wish AJ Styles a full and speedy recovery.
